Gal 5:20-21 Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God. For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
Verse 21 here is a verse that many believers quote and for good reason. Through Christ we are made righteous.
I would like to flip these 2 verses for a second and get a little broader perspective.
For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God
Working backwards here is it not obvious that because we have been made righteous through Christ’s sacrifice that we are to be His ambassadors? In that God would be pleading through us that we would implore them on Christ’s behalf to be reconciled to God?
Were we just made the righteousness of God in Christ for our own sakes only or are we through this righteousness to be empowered to lead others to the same?
