Resolving Issues

Every day it seems I observe problems and issues that people have or create that could be avoided or solved if they knew and followed the Word of God.

For instance when someone has an issue with someone. What do I observe most people do most of the time? They get offended, brood on their offense, gossip about it and blast the person on social media.
The saddest part is that none of these things that they do actually make them feel better long term or resolve the issue. Sure one can feel better after they have blasted out their grievances about someone on social media but that doesn’t last long. The offense remains and left unattended turns to bitterness.
Now let’s look at the God way of doing things.
Matt 18:15-17
“Moreover if your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he hears you, you have gained your brother. But if he will not hear, take with you one or two more, that by the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.’ And if he refuses to hear them, tell it to the church. But if he refuses even to hear the church, let him be to you like a heathen and a tax collector.
Here’s a simple 3 step process. Actually the vast majority of issues could be resolved with step number 1. Just simply going to the person who has offended you. Most of the time doing this solves the problem. A lot of times there was just a misunderstanding or the person who did the offending didn’t know or understand that they had done anything wrong.
Honestly how is you or I gossiping about someone or blasting them on social media ever going to fix anything? Considering that the person doesn’t see your posts I doubt that it will amount to anything.
Yet actually going to them has the strong possibility of not only resolution but helping them to do better. If you just attack someone they are going to defend themselves but if you come to actually resolve things you get a different response.
Also when you go to the person you may find out that you were in the wrong which gives you the opportunity to correct and keeps you from embarrassing yourself by putting out incorrect information.
I don’t care how smart you are, how many degrees you have, how many years of study you have done. NOTHING trumps the wisdom of God.

1st Report from 2nd Ireland Trip

Report From second Ireland trip.     Arrived in Ireland on time and very blessed.  The Lord provided me access to an airport lounge for my layover in Washington DC and for a row by myself to stretch out on the plane flight over.  Superfast pick up of the rental car and off I went to Castledaly.    Castledaly is a wonderful retreat/summer camp facility.  There was actually another retreat going on the same time as Outreach Ireland’s retreat.  The European Christian Mission and I the great privilege of meeting and speaking with Jonathan McCracken who is a church planter currently planting a church in Claremorris, Ireland.  Being that church planting is a passion of mine and part of my calling/mission this was indeed a divine appointment.  I was able to exchange contact information and am hoping to build relationship with him. Outreach Ireland’s retreat was a Holy Spirit filled time of connection, relati...

Do we have big enough expectations?

Do we have big enough expectations?   How do you define hope?  Do you define it as most of the world has come to define it which is basically wishing?  Actually, hope is to have an expectation for something or that something will happen and this is especially true in a Biblical context.  Take a look at the following verses and every time you read hope say expectation.     Romans 15:4 For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope.    Romans 15:12-13 And again, Isaiah says: “There shall be a root of Jesse; And He who shall rise to reign over the Gentiles, In Him the Gentiles shall hope.”  13  Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.   Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evi...
